Collyhurst Nursery School and Children’s Centre is one of two in Manchester, offering a unique service that supports a holistic approach to the whole family. At Collyhurst Nursery, the children and families are at the centre of all we do.

The Day Care offers Outstanding care and education from 2 to 3 years. Our hours of service are 08:00 to 16:30 and we offer both funded and paid places offering flexible hours where available, we have extended services with before and after school club care.
Our teaching team are highly qualified and trained in key areas of early learning such as speech and language principles, knowledge of the importance of nursery rhymes and the love of reading and listening to stories, write dance training, promoting early stages of muscle development and aiding skills for early mark making.
We have an outstanding outdoor provision which offers our children space and opportunity to engage independently, with high levels of involvement through child-initiated activity. We are proud of our forest school areas, which are specifically designed for our children to explore and develop their self-esteem and confidence.
Collyhurst Nursery strives to exceed the ‘expected’ standards of the welfare requirements within the Early Years Foundation stage and Development Matters Framework. Our teaching approach is a balance of ‘In the moment planning’ and adult led focused activities supporting the development of early phonics, reading, early skills of writing and maths, supporting to develop the children of our future. Our team are continuously reflecting on our practices to ensure that every child’s needs are met and are supported to thrive to their full potential.

Our Meal Providers
Our lovely kitchen team offer your child lots of choices every lunchtime and ensure that they have their preferred choice. Each day, you can choose a meal from one of two options (two mains and two sides), along with a pudding. This ensures that you have a variety to choose from. To view the menu click here
Dinner Money Information
School meals are £12.50 per week for all children and will need to be paid in advance

Settling In Procedure and Sessions
Once the enrolment process has been completed, we support a gradual admission for you and your child, there is no cost to these sessions. The purpose is to gradually introduce you and your child to our nursery environment, routine and for our staff team to learn all that is important about your family, to be able to understand your child and meet their needs (including medical, dietary etc). Do they have a comfort, favourite rhyme, or song you sing to soothe them, what position do they sleep, what makes them laugh, what don’t they like?
We support a series of visits, the number of taster sessions will all depend on you and your child. When you are both comfortable and happy, then a start date will be confirmed, and full paid sessions will commence.
