Who We Are

Collyhurst Nursery School and Neighbourhood Area 3 Children's Centres are based in the north of Manchester. Our Nursery School is a maintained local authority school with a designated Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher.

The nursery classroom is led by fully qualified and highly experienced teachers offering a range of critical educational expertise resulting in narrowing the attainment gap for our most vulnerable children. We have excellent links with outside agencies to support children with special educational needs and we have a qualified teacher to co-ordinate our special needs provision across the whole setting. There is much research to show that the teaching quality within maintained nursery schools' is consistently high for all children and that children make substantial progress, enhancing life chances. Our nursery classroom caters for children 3-5 years and currently offers 30 hour FULL TIME places for our nursery children. We have superb kitchen facilities that provide a range of outstanding, nutritional lunchtime meals which cater for all dietary needs.

The Collyhurst board of governors is made up of key stakeholders, and several serving practitioners, including two Ofsted inspectors. They form a strong board who provide robust challenge and support to the school's leadership

Ofsted say we are 'outstanding'

Collyhurst Nursery School was visited on the 11th of September with the outcome continuing to be an outstanding school. 

The school leadership, governors and staff are all extremely proud of this result and the report, which we invite you to read. Our staff will continue to further develop the school, ensuring that every single child at Collyhurst Nursery School has the highest possible quality of education, which they rightly deserve.
