Hello, my name is Amy Davenport, I'm the interim executive headteacher at Collyhurst Nursery School. I started at the school in January 2025 as interim executive headteacher, with the vision to federate the two Nursery schools I lead. My substantive role is the headteacher of Martenscroft Nursery School and Children's Centres. 

 

Since January 2025, Deborah Preece has been the interim head of school and leads on the day to day operation of the school. 

 

Collyhurst Nursery School is an inclusive, nurturing school in Collyhurst, an area of significant social deprivation. Our school has a vibrant and diverse community which has high levels of international new arrivals, children with English as an Additional Language and children with Special Educational Needs. We believe that this makes the tapestry of our school richer; additional barriers to learning are not excuses, they are reasons for us to do even better.

 

As the tender holder for a neighbourhood of Children's Centres (Collyhurst, Moston, Miles Platting and Newton Heath), we are at the forefront of early family support in the area. Our relationships with parents and carers are excellent, as is the range of support we can offer them. We are proud to be able to make a difference at a family and community level. 

 

We hope that as you visit our school for inspection, you get to know how we balance an excellent quality of education with understanding and meeting the individual needs of all children and families. Collyhurst Nursery School truly is a hidden gem.
